Install Process
We do not perform cheap layovers by installing new roofing over existing, worn roofing since a layover always voids manufacturer warranties and hampers the proper ventilation of your attic space. We do not install barn roofs, sheds or mobile homes and we do not perform partial roof installations. We use a proven 10-step installation process to put on your roofing system properly the first time to manufacturer requirements since you are buying direct from the factory. Keeping our insurance costs down by adhering to all OSHA roofing safety standards is another reason we can sell to you for less. Our install team always wears steel toed shoes, hard hats, reflective safety vests and roofing harnesses when the pitch exceeds 5/12 (additional fees may apply):
Step 1
Remove all layers of existing roofing material down to the wooden decking and haul it off your property. Required. ($1 /foot per layer).
Step 2
Inspect the decking for rot or deterioration and fix or replace any bad decking (6 sheets of 4×8 plywood included, ($50 for every additional sheet) or up to 200’ plank decking included). Once any bad decking has been made right then we hammer everything down to ensure a smooth flat surface. And clean the entire roof deck.
Step 3
Install the proper top-of-class underlayment, we use GAF Tiger Paw™ membrane. While our competitors hide the cheap felt paper stuff underneath. Shop and compare!
Step 4
Install 2×2 wooden batten system to elevate the tiles off the decking for improved insulation, ventilation and sound dampening. We do not use a direct-to-deck stone coated steel tile install method because we believe in delivering to you a roof with a balanced ventilation system using dead air space as a good insulator during Winter and the steel tiles act as a radiant barrier to keep the heat out of your attic space in the Summer and reducing protrusions by getting rid of unneeded whirly birds and leaky ridge vents. And elevating the steel tiles off the roof deck dampens noise during a storm so you’ll better enjoy your one-and-done roofing system. While our competitors try and talk you into the cheaper direct-to-deck installations and say, “it won’t be that noisy and the ventilation is fine—don’t worry about any of that.”
Step 5
Install Tefute® brand stone coated steel roofing tiles.
Step 6
Install Tefute® brand stone coated steel roofing accessories. Many roofers bend 1-ply metal to use as accessories because it can be much cheaper. Our competitors pull the wool over the homeowners’ eyes any way they can to make more money. We use the factory color matched and stone coated accessories to fully integrate your roofing system and give your home a beautiful new look. Even our valleys are stone coated and color matched.
Step 7
Clean the entire roof of any debris and metal shavings.
Step 8
Perform a thorough magnetic sweep of the perimeter of your property to remove any nails or metal shavings from the ground. Nothing like popping a tire after getting a new roof, if that happens after getting a new roofing system from us then we will pay for all tire repairs and an additional $200 for the hassle. Our competitors don’t do that because they are long gone but to us you are a customer for life, and we want your referral.
Step 9
Our quality assurance manager performs a complete on the roof inspection to ensure your install is proper and to manufacturer specification and schedules any required inspections from the building inspector. A contractor’s license is required to pull a roofing permit so if our competitor doesn’t pull a permit that’s because they are unlicensed and illegally installing roofs.
Step 10
Our quality assurance manager performs a final inspection with you, the homeowner(s), and activates your 50-year manufacturer and 30-year craftsmanship warranties leaving our competitors in the dust and wondering what Just happened.
